BUCHAREST, November 2, 2020. 15 new causes join the Donate with Pago community and will be able to raise donations through Pago. Over 237,000 lei were donated by Pago users in the last year, and 1 in 3 donors chose to donate recurrently, thus providing additional financial stability to these causes. 85% of the 5,260 donations were made from the Pago app, and the rest from the doneaza.pago.ro platform.
Designed and developed to facilitate donations from individuals – fast and without cost, Donate with Pago is addressed both to Pago users and to anyone who wants to make an online donation, without having to download the application. Donations can be unique or recurring, and app users can choose to donate the Pago points received in the app. In the spirit of transparency, donors are regularly informed about the progress of the causes to which they donated and how the money was used. The 15 causes for which donations can be made were selected by a jury and by the public, amongst 135 interested NGOs. The 15 NGOs are active either nationally or locally and aim for various causes, such as documenting traditional craftsmen, supporting children with oncological conditions, visual impairments or other disabilities, preventing the separation of children from their families, pediatric care or even rescuing wild animals.
Starting today, donations can be made to 15 NGOs in 5 categories:
Art and culture: Asociația Fascinația Meșteșugului, Asociația uzinaduzina and Asociația Teatrul Experimental Senzorial
Education: Asociația pentru Dezvoltare Urbană, FDP – Protagoniști în Educație și Fundația Inovații Sociale Regina Maria
Environment and animals: Asociația pentru Conservarea Diversității Biologice (ACDB), TACsocial și Clubul Câinilor Utilitari
Health: Asociația Dăruiește Aripi, Asociația Magic și Fundația Părinți din România (PEDITEL)
Social: SOS Satele Copiilor, Fundația Hope and Homes for Childrenși Fundația Inimă de Copil.
During this period, when it is more important than ever to show solidarity, the 15 causes chosen in the second edition help the vulnerable in many parts of the country. Support from individual donors is invaluable, because their donation can make a difference to vulnerable families, the cultural sector, or animals in need. We truly thank the donors from the first edition, and we hope that next year the 15 causes will raise as many donations as possible, said Adrian Cighi and Alexandru-Gala Popescu, co-founders of Pago.
Donate with Pago is a project developed by Pago, with the support of Banca Transilvania, the Civil Society Development Foundation, and the Bucharest Community Foundation.
